Requirements for Miss Gottschee:
1 Must be of Gottscheer descent
2 Must be between the ages
of 18-25 at the time of the Volksfest (June 2008)
3 Must be single (not married)
4 Must submit essay by the due date (see above)
Responsibilities of Miss Gottschee to the Gottscheer/American
Community:
1 Attend meetings
of the Gottscheer Relief Association, Inc. (usually the 1st Friday of every month)
2 Attend the
Gottscheer Treffen (Labor Day weekend)
3 Participate
in the Steuben Day Parade (3rd Saturday in September)
4 Attend as
many functions/dances as possible hosted by the various NY Gottscheer Clubs
5 Represent
the Gottscheer American youth at Gottscheer functions and German/American functions
Please attach a one page essay which includes your Gottscheer ancestry, why you would like to be Miss
Gottschee, what your expectations are as Miss Gottschee, and how you intend to contribute to the Gottscheer/American Community.
I have read and understand my responsibilities if I am chosen to represent the Gottscheer/ American Community
as Miss Gottschee. I understand that Miss Gottschee
will be chosen by the Miss Gottschee committee in conjunction with the Gottscheer Relief Association.
